Well, the weather people were correct. It’s snowing and it hasn’t let up. There isn’t going to be a snowplow in our part of the county anytime soon, let alone on our road. They have never plowed our road as far as I can remember. But then again, there usually isn’t any reason to. Most snow never stays long enough in this part of Kentucky. I don’t suppose that really matters; we’d first have to get to the county road to use it, and by the looks of the weather, that’s not going to be anytime soon.
All of our firewood is nicely stored on our covered breezeway. I even brought an extra wheelbarrow load from our other wood racks behind the garage closer to the back door. The fire is roaring in the fireplace, the animals are all fed, and Katrina and I are nestled in with some books to read and time to catch up on our newsletters and other correspondence. We have fresh veggies growing in our aquaponic unit, and we’ve started some new sprouts. Katrina just made a pot of tea with chaga and reishi mushrooms, elderberries, schizandra berries, cardamom, and stevia leaves. While the blizzard continues to rage, inside all is tranquility and contentment. Life is good and nothing more is needed. We hope you’re feeling the same way. Simple is best, whether it be a blizzard or not. Today the world happens to be white; that’s all.
